Doria Ragland’s family are the descendants of slaves. Her family was the property of a Georgia slave owner called William Ragland. After being freed, they adopted his last name.

Meghan’s paternal grandmother Doris Mary Rita Sanders, was a descendant of Christopher Hussey who was a 24th generation descendant of King Edward III. Moreover, Meghan is a descendant of Revered William Skipper whose ancestors had distant connections with Princess Diana, Harry’s mom.

So Meghan is a very, very distant cousin of Prince Harry. We don’t think that’s creep — just proof that Meghan was always meant for the palace.

7. Meghan Markle has two half-siblings

Meghan has two siblings from her father’s first marriage to Roslyn Loveless. Markle’s half-sister Samantha is 17 years older, while her brother Thomas Markle Jr. is 15 years her senior. The siblings are estranged, with media reports showing that Samantha and Meghan have not spoken or over a decade at the time of her wedding in 2018.

8. Meghan is also estranged from her father

Thomas Markle did not attend his daughter’s wedding which made their relationship turn sour. Markle has also made controversial statements in the media concerning his daughter and her wedding to the royal family
