KELLY CLARKSON has long battled with her weight, particularly after giving birth to her two children. But The Voice coach is now back in shape, coming clean about her staggering 40 pound weight loss and just how she did it. Her secret? Little to no exercise.
Kelly Clarkson, 36, has lost an impressive 40 pounds, debuting her new trimmed down figure on the US TV show, The Voice.
Kelly has had many weight struggles over the years, often being the victim of cruel trolling on social media, with one Twitter user in 2017 famously calling her out for being “fat”.
Posting a sexy snap to Instagram Kelly showed off her new body in a tight-fitted black and white polka dot dress, quickly gaining a lot of attention.
One fan commented: “You look great! How much weight have you lost! Great job!”, with another drawing attention to her weight loss writing: “Every episode of the voice you’re looking happier and healthier, way to go girl.”
alking to US TV newsmagazine Extra yesterday, the Stronger singer revealed her battle with weight was always down to a thyroid disorder.
The news network caught up with the hit singer in Nashville, Tennessee at the 2018 CMT Music Awards, where she showed off her hard work in a fitted black midi dress.
Her recent weight loss was not achieved by slogging away in the gym, restricting calories or giving up her favourite foods, instead it was achieved through changing her outlook on food, what she buys and how she cooks it.
She also credited cardiac surgeon Steve Gundry’s “The Plant Paradox” book as helping her combat her thyroid condition and lose weight without medication.
Talking to Extra Kelly said: “I literally read this book, and I did it for this autoimmune disease that I had and I had a thyroid issue, and now all my levels are back up.
“I’m not on medicine anymore because of this book” said Clarkson, referring to The Plant Paradox by Steven R. Gundry, a cardiac surgeon. “It’s basically about how we cook our food, non-GMO, no pesticides, eating really organic.”
The 36-year-old’s staggering weight loss was shockingly achieved with little to no extra exercise, proving that weight loss can be achieved without slogging away in the gym.
“I’m not working out! I think people think I’m working out and I’m like, ‘Don’t think I’m going to come play some sport!’” continued Kelly.
Reiterating her no-exercise regime to interviewer Alecia Davis, she concluded, “Literally, I haven’t worked out at all!”
The comments come as a refreshing change to Kelly’d previous interviews about her weight loss, where she spoke to Attitude magazine about her battle in 2017.
Speaking to Attitude Kelly is reported to have said: ”When I was really skinny I wanted to kill myself.
“I was miserable, like inside and out, for four years of my life. But no one cared, because aesthetically you make sense.”
Kelly is now the picture of health and happiness, posting multiple body-shots and beaming photos to her 3.2 million Instagram followers.
Another celebrity who lost an impressive amount of weight is US celebrity chef Graham Elliot.
Known for his appearance on TV shows such as Masterchef, he once weighed in at a staggering 400 pounds.
However, the 41-year-old dropped 150 pounds and kept it off, with his simple method.
