– Mike Enriquez was asked to react to the franchise issue of ABS-CBN
– He called his reporter in Congress to clarify what happened
– The multi-awarded anchor also expressed that there are other priorities to mind
Veteran Kapuso anchor Mike Enriquez expressed his thoughts about the heavy issue that ABS-CBN is currently facing regarding its franchise license.
KAMI learned that the broadcast-journalist was sought for a comment about this during the press conference of “Dobol B Sa News TV” on June 13.
At first, Mike expressed that he does not want to comment about it since he is not the one who will give the franchise to the rival network.
He also called the Kapuso reporter, whose beat is the Congress, to give an update about the freezing of the said franchise of ABS-CBN.
“Ehhh! No comment! Hindi naman kami ang nagbibigay ng franchise, Kongreso! Nasaan si Divine? Eto yung reporter namin sa Congress… Divine, ano ba nangyari? Inupuan yung franchise? Naka-operate tayo, e,” the anchor quipped.
“Kailangan pong i-refile kasi nagsara na po yung 17th Congress. So ire-refile siya sa 18th po,” the reporter explained.
Although Mike clarified that he does not have a personal comment about the issue, he said that it is not right to rejoice if someone experiences misfortune.
He also emphasized that there are more important problems that should be given due attention and that everyone must not waste any time.
“Hindi ba, meron turo sa atin na huwag tayong magbunyi sa kamalasan o sa kasamaang-palad ng iba?” he stressed.
“Marami pang ibang problema na dapat pagtuunan ng pansin… kahirapan, korupsyon, gutom, edukasyon, pabahay, pagpapagamot. Sayang ang oras,” he concluded.
In a previous article by KAMI, Mike earned praises for his remarks about the results of 2019 midterm elections.
Mike Enriquez, or Miguel Castro Enriquez in real life, is an award-winning journalist who serves as one of the anchors of “24 Oras.” In 2014, he received the Excellence in Broadcasting Award during the PMPC Star Awards for TV.
